Our Pastor
Calvin E. Moore was on December 7, 1956 in Bakersfield California. He is the son of Elgin and Lillian Moore (both deceased) he is the 2nd oldest of five children.
At the early age of 12 he accepted Christ. As a result of accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior he was baptized in 1969. His early religious training came from the True Light Baptist Church in Wasco Ca. under the pastorage of Rev. EG Gentry and other serving pastors. As a young man he was active and attended the San Joaquin District Association under the leadership of moderator Pastor Tyree Toliver of Bakersfield Ca.
In his years at the True Light Baptist Church, he taught Bible study and was a member of both the children’s choir and the young adult choir.
God would further reveal His purposes in his life as he acknowledged & announced his calling from God in the gospel ministry of a preacher in March of 1972. On March 26, 1972 he preached his initial sermon, and was ordained in March 1978 at the True Light Baptist Church.
As a young minister he was given the opportunity to be part of the Southern Baptist youth evangelism team. He traveled with two other team members, in the summer months in the state of California ministering to diverse congregations.
In 1975 he attended Fresno Pacific College to continue his education after high school. In 1977 he united with the St. Rest Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership of Pastor Chester Riggins. He served as one of the associate ministers, Minister of Music, musician and choir director, and other assigned duties in the church.
In 1981 God blessed Rev. Moore’s life with a ‘good thing’ when he met Cynthia Pettigrew. On June 16, 1984, Rev. Moore & Sis. Cynthia were married in holy matrimony, and they are the proud parents of one son Christopher Moore.
In 2000, the Lord called him to Pastor the King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church. He was installed on October 22, 2000 and pastored there until 2011.
In May 2015 Pastor Moore completed his education at the Good News Seminary & Bible College with a Bachelor’s degree. In June 2017 he received his Master’s Degree in theology at the same religious institution.
On February 5, 2018 God orchestrated another move in the life and ministry of Pastor Moore to church plant the Restoration Community church. Shortly thereafter, the Lord had another divine assignment for Pastor Moore, he was called to Pastor the St. Joseph Baptist church on Thursday Feburary 7, 2019.
Under Pastor’s Moore leadership the church has grown, spiritually, numerically, and financially. We have modernized and renovated several areas in and around the church. To God be the glory.
Pastor Moore is known for his preaching and music ministry. In 2013, Pastor Moore was a recipient of the Lifetime achievement award in Gospel Music. It is Pastor Moore’s desire to carry the gospel of Jesus Christ with power, anointing, revelation, and edification. The motto for the church is Connect, Cultivate and Celebrate.
